Five Days in Sardinia Guide
More on Dolce Far Niente...Vacation where the Italians vacation. The Strict guide to the salty, turquoise, warm, wild coast of Sardinia, ft. list of good stuff, 5-day itinerary, and map to save! xx
So many thoughts to share! What a magical place. Sardinia has long been the island destination and vacation spot for Italians, but soon will be on the top of every it-girl’s travel hit list (if it isn’t already). While more classic spots on the coast of Italy like Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast, and the main cities can be super busy in the summer, Sardinia (magically) remains peaceful — even in the high season. We honestly didn’t see many people the whole week..Granted, we kept a pretty low profile, but isn’t that what Dolce Far Niente is all about? The Sweetness of Doing Nothing <3
Also, while we did spend a good five days in Sardinia, it is a MASSIVE ISLAND — and we barely scratched the surface. I’m sharing my curation of places we went and others that made the short list, coming highly recommended by chic locals and/or seen/experienced with my own eyes. We spent most of the time in the North, flying into Olbia, but I’ll definitely be back to check out the other coasts!
Without any further ado, here are my recommendations for where to bask, boat, eat, shop and JUST BE! in Sardinia:
The Guide
We stayed at an Airbnb for three nights and then a hotel for two. I’d recommend getting a house for a few nights if it’s a group of you so you can have more space to hang, or even cook & throw a dinner party! But I am always a hotel girl, and there are definitely many special stays on the island worth checking out. I cannot speak more highly of Albero Capavolto…It was truly the most curated, tasteful little B&B run by the strictest interior designer from Milan. Just 7 rooms, a fabulous pool, great food — overall the perfect getaway for couples.
& here are the other three places I would stay or at least get a meal or drink at: Experience Hotel Su Gologone, Cala Di Volpe, Belmond Romazzino.
Days consisted of beach hopping & eating all the gelato & pasta possible... Here were my favorite spots we ate & the other strict spots I saved:
